Former Propeller Health COO and CCO Chris Hogg discusses the recent embrace of virtual care technologies and how overcoming geographic limitations could lead to a shakeup among incumbent organizations resistant to change.

The device continuously monitors four significant vital signs: heart rate, heart rate variability, respiratory rate and activity.   

A reduction of 134 admission days was recorded in a group of 33 patients. 

Following a soft launch in September, the GluCare Integrated Diabetes Center says it monitors the data of its patients in real-time, plus employs digital therapeutics.  

The tool is able to capture data from remote monitoring wearables and to link patients with virtual care providers.

The aim is to use the technology to track daily patient data and “plan interventional strategies in real-time to avoid complications of the disease,” the centre said.

The digital cancer care platform will connect patients with their clinical team.

COVID-19 has forced remote patient monitoring, an experience that many patients find as more convenient, time-saving and equal to in-person care, says Dr. Chris Hobson, CMO for Orion Health.

The device monitors vitals from up to four feet away, and is designed for use in healthcare settings or at home.
