The company hopes that its more descriptive reports will distinguish the personal ECG offering from others limited to atrial fibrillation detection alone.

The news comes roughly eight months after Apple launched its own hardware and software ECG feature for the Apple Watch Series 4.

Priya Abani will take up the digital health company's top role on Monday, while interim CEO Ira Bahr will shift to the COO position. 

The KardiaMobile 6L builds upon its predecessor with a third electrode placed on its back side, allowing cardiologists better insight into device owners' arrhythmias.

KardiaMobile and KardiaStation warn users when detecting bradycardia and tachycardia. Meanwhile, the company has also laid the groundwork for streamlined AI updates across all of its current and upcoming products.

Researchers have now called for the device to be incorporated into standard care in A&E departments.

Interim CEO Ira Bahr said that his company is undeterred by Apple's entrance into the mobile ECG market.
